The practices would include Prayers, Asanas for relaxation, Asanas for correction, simple techniques of Pranayama, Meditation and Aum-chanting. The practices of Asanas, Pranayama and Dhyana would be taught in a scientific manner. Though these practices have their effects in a combined way, the practices would be different for different groups, appropriate to the disease or infirmity like backache, hypertension etc. when done in a scientific improving the movements in different joints, to make body more agile, to improve micro-circulation in different organs and to bring relaxation in a combined tensed up body and mind. But more than this, it improves the awareness of a person about how to use the body and mind throughout the day, so that it does not contribute in one's state of ill-health.

These workshops provide the basic theoretical knowledge for an understanding of the functional anatomy, interactive physiology and pathophysiology of psychosomatic and somatic disorders relating these to Yoga practices. Clinical aspects of body systems and their dysfunction are also covered. It includes sessions on related Yoga therapy and integrated approach.

Panchakarma or the five evacuative procedures are the Ayurvedic means for active intervention in the treatment of diseases. They are means to medicine what surgical procedures are to surgery.

The Ayurvedic Panchkarma program will include two hours of both theory and practical hands on practices:

  • Pulse Diagnosis
  • Detoxification
  • Abhyanga(Oil Massages)
  • Shirodhara
  • Herbal Steam Bath

  • Awareness : 25 elements of the evolution of consciousness
    • Understanding of the U process
    • Dissolving the 'I' process
  • Meditation : Sthool/ Sukshma/ Jyotir Bindu/ Pindas Dhyana
  • Pranayama:
    • Purak/ Rechak/ Kumbhak
    • Introduction to the Eight varieties of Pranayama
    • Bhaya/ Abhyantara
    • Progress towards Stumbha-vritti
  • Tea Break : 6.00am

6.30am - 9.00am

Practicals – Kriyas & Advanced Asanas For Physical Fitness

  • Kriyas : Shatkriyas - Dhautis/ Nauli/ Trataka
  • Asanas :
    • Surya Namaskar with all the steps of advanced asanas
    • Advanced asanas for physical fitness
  • Breakfast : 9.00am – 10.00am

11.00am – 12.00pm

Lectures on Patanjali and Hatha Yoga / Theory on ayurvedic panchkarma / nature cure

  • Patanjal Yoga Siutras : Ishwar Paridhaan/ Kriya Yoga/ Ashtanga Yoga
  • Hatha Pradipika : Nadanusandhana/ Chakras
  • Lunch : 12.30pm – 1.30pm
  • Rest : 1.30pm – 4.00pm
  • Tea Break : 4.00pm – 4.30pm

Practicals – Asanas Related To the Endocrine System with Breathing /Practicals related to Ayurvedic Panchkarma and Nature Cure Practices

  • Asanas : Related to the Chakras helping awaken the Kundalini together with the Mudras (Endocrine System)

Ganga Aarti On The Ghats Of The Ganga

  • Dinner : 7.00pm – 8.00pm

Chanting – Mantras

  • AUM Mantra/ Gayatri Mantra/ Triambak Mantra
